MEP JOINS NORTH EAST STUDENTS IN ID CARD PROTEST

Fiona Hall MEP with students from Durham and Newcastle Universities at the anti-ID card protest in Newcastle

Fiona Hall MEP joined students from Newcastle and Durham Universities who staged an action at Grey's Monument in the centre of Newcastle on Saturday, to highlight the dangers and cost of the Government's ID card scheme.

Members of the Liberal Democrat Youth and Student groups from both Newcastle and Durham Universities handed out leaflets and collected signatures for a petition against compulsory ID cards. They were joined by local Liberal Democrat Councillors and North East Euro-MP Fiona Hall.
