Back to Fiona's work in the North East
Fiona campaigning with Alan Beith, MP for Berwick for full dualling of the A1
Fiona has lobbied for several rail lines being reopened in North East England. She wrote to Rail Minister Tom Harris MP ahead of his visit to the region, urging him to re-open the Ashington, Blyth and Tyne railway line for passenger use. She has also campaigned for the North East to be linked to the South via a new high speed line. Fiona is also campaigning for more space for bikes on buses and trains and more parking spaces at Alnmouth train station.
Fiona also continues to push forward the economic case for dualling the A1. She has reminded the Government that the A1 in Northumberland is a designated part of the trans-European road network, a key aim of which is to improve transport links around Europe.
