NICE DECISION ON VELCADE - A POSITIVE STEP FORWARD

Commenting on the decision to make Velcade available on the NHS through a refund scheme, North East Lib Dem MEP Fiona Hall, a member of MEPs Against Cancer said:

"This is a positive step forward which will offer hope to myeloma sufferers.

"What is more, it is an approach which could be used for other drugs where the NHS is reluctant to take the full cost-burden of treatment when there is still some uncertainty about effectiveness."
