Speaking before the vote on a European Parliament report on the EPAs, Mrs Hall said:
""The regional integration of African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) economies is a positive move but EPAs are only acceptable if they are development -friendly.
"EPAs must be based on the principle of asymmetrical liberalisation, allowing countries full access to European markets without any insistence by the EU on reciprocal access for European goods and services. If we allow the latter we may well cause damage to the ACP economies.
"Fair rules for trade must be the order of the day".
