HALL WELCOMES MOVE TO CUT INTERNATIONAL CALL BILLS

"This new regulation aims to ensure that operators cannot charge an international roaming charge that is higher than that imposed nationally. It is a myth that the cost of processing an international call is more, and it is outrageous that mobile operators have got away with this for so long.

"As summer approaches many Brits will be heading to the Continent for their holidays and will be hit hard by extortionate call prices. The draft regulation announced today should mean that they will not come home to a mobile phone bill that costs the same as their holiday."
