GOVERNMENT BROKEN LAW AND PROMISES ON GREEN POWER

Commenting on this, Lib Dem Energy spokesperson in the European Parliament, Euro MP for the North East Fiona Hall, said:

"The launch of this legal action is a damning indictment of Labour's record on the environment. What happened to their claim that climate change was "the most important thing"?

"The government has broken the law, and broken its promises about greener energy.

"It is no wonder that greenhouse gas emissions have risen since Tony Blair came to power when his Government is not even taking the minimum steps to encourage renewable electricity required by EU law."
