Fiona Hall MEP joined with National Lottery Good Causes to highlight the impact of the £794 million which has been awarded to good causes in the North East since 1994 on National Lottery Day; Saturday 5th November.
Ms Hall commented:
'High profile projects like the Sage Gateshead and BALTIC are well known examples of how Lottery money has been spent in the region.
'However, National Lottery Day gives people the opportunity to see and experience the hundreds of other lesser known but equally important projects in the region that have benefited from National Lottery funding."
And from Saturday Tynesiders will have the chance to have their say on where future funding could go in the region in a special ballot called 'Tyneside Chooses'.
Ms Hall added:
"I'm delighted that Tyneside has been chosen as the pilot for a national campaign that gives local people a real say in how they think National Lottery funding could be spent.
