North East Euro MP Fiona Hall, who is a member of the European Parliament Development Committee, has welcomed the publication of "The Rough Guide to a Better World".
The document, in the same format as a mini Rough Guide travel guide, explains how individuals can do their bit towards tackling world poverty. The guide is sponsored by the Department for International Development (DFID).
Said Fiona:
"Everyday, we make choices about what we eat, what goods we buy and how we generally spend our money. Many of these choices affect people in developing countries for better or worse.
"Most people would like to spend their money in a way which helps tackle world poverty rather than deepen it. This is an excellent guide because it provides a great deal of accessible information about how our own lives and the lives of those in third world countries are interconnected."
The guide will be available free in all post offices from 29 November and can also be downloaded from www.roughguide-betterworld.com.
